The Rule Book....

The reason why I think board-and-train programs are my most valuable service I offer my clients is that I maintain an iron-clad mindset when it comes to running my household, day in and day out.

Everyone and I do mean everyone, including puppies, boarding dogs, my dogs, and visiting dogs must to follow my rules. I do not believe these rules are unfair, but I do impose certain limits to keep my dogs safe - noticing a theme here ;)

Rules include not jumping, a one bark limit, no being in the kitchen except to eat or drink, and probably a dozen other boundaries that help maintain order and safety. I also have a lot of plants in my house, many within reach of my dogs and any visiting dogs, so I need them to leave my plants alone. No eating, sniffing, or engaging with them in any way.

I remember walking through Gardeners in Williston with a friend when she pointed out that they now label plants that are poisonous to pets. I mean, come on - can't people just tell their dogs NOT to mess with the plants? Is that so hard?

I like plants.

I like dogs.

And I refuse to choose between them just because I cannot set a boundary.

Happy Training!
