About Us

At Green Paws, we embrace the harmony of life with our dogs, cherishing moments of ease while acknowledging that a touch of chaos is part of the journey.

Our Story

Green Paws Boarding and Training was founded by Addi von Eynern, born out of her quest for in-home boarding solutions that truly met the needs of her dogs and experience of thirty years plus around dogs. Dissatisfied with existing options, Addi envisioned a place where dogs could feel at home and be cared for with the same love and dedication she gives her own pets.

Green Paws officially launched in January 2022, at a time when Rylee, Addi's Jack Russell Terrier, was 8 years old, and Bella, her Border Collie, was just 1.5 years old. Having dedicated time to sheep herding with Bella, Addi also made the heartfelt decision to transition Rylee into early retirement from training.

Addi’s journey with dog training began as a personal mission when her parents gifted her Rylee. Determined to raise a Jack Russell Terrier who was off-leash, responsive, and socially well-adjusted, Addi worked tirelessly to achieve that goal. Today, Rylee is that dog—so reliable she doesn’t even need a collar, and has won agility competitions, excels at rally, and currently thinks she might make a good herding terrier.

Bella introduced Addi to the world of competitive sheep herding, including organizations like NEBCA and USBCHA. This new passion has taken her on countless road trips across the United States, attending herding clinics and competing in open field trials (Novice 2023, Pronovice 2024). Currently, Addi is channeling her expertise into training her Border Collie puppy, Emma, to become a skilled sheepdog. For Addi, the heart of dog training lies in building a meaningful relationship with each dog—a principle she strives to share with dog owners, helping them foster trust and respect with their pets.

Addi’s days are divided between caring for boarding dogs at home, tending to her own dogs, and spending time on a sheep farm. She teaches lessons, manages sheep, and is passionate about reconnecting children with the farming experience, creating a sense of community and hands-on learning.

Her dedication to agriculture and animal care extends beyond Green Paws. Addi has worked on an English farm during lambing season and lent her expertise to several farms in the Northeast. Whether it’s lending a helping hand or working alongside her Border Collies, Addi remains deeply committed to both dogs and the farming lifestyle.

At Green Paws Boarding and Training, Addi brings her unique blend of experience, passion, and care to every dog she trains or boards—helping pets and their owners thrive together.
